Interim specialist Expatriate Tax & Payroll Consultant

Due to internal restructure, an exciting opportunity for an Interim Specialist Expatriate Tax & Payroll Consultant has arisen within this high profile, market leading, global PLC. Reporting to the Head of HR, this role will support a key business area and support the execution of a large scale integration programme and will have the following accountabilities:
· Provide payroll and tax related support across to businesses that are going through an integration programme within the UK and Ireland. This role will include processing of expatriate (inbound and outbound) payments and statutory deductions and reporting thereon. This role should contribute as a specialist expert in all matters associated with expatriate payments, through the timely provision of accurate processing and reporting.
· The role supports 150 expatriates worldwide and a further 50 UK & Ireland locals who benefit from third-party tax advice provided by the company. The role is responsible for processing payments and the correct application of tax and social security deductions and for accounting for these to internal functions, third parties and government bodies.
· You will manage the Expatriate Payroll data, manage all payroll instructions, be the first point of contact within the business for any pay or tax related queries from the organisations global tax provider KPMG. You will liaise with HR revenue and Customs, checking expat tax reconciliations and make the necessary payments to HMRC&C using the correct cost centres. Communicate payments or deductions to expatriates and instruct payroll accordingly. Process expat relocation payments as required, liaise with the UK and Ireland relocation teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of relocation-related payments.
Candidates will have a broad and deep payroll, tax and social security knowledge, especially as they relate to UK & Ireland expatriates. Broad HR and or business knowledge, including employee communications. You will have strong interpersonal and relationship building skills as responsibility is based less on formal power but on sound professionalism. You are able to make good quality decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience and Judgement. A dedicated individual who meets and exceeds the expectations and requirements of internal and external client group, building effective relationships with customers and gains their trust and respect.
It is essential that candidates have strong communication and presentation skills, good personal impact and influencing skills as credibility, ownership and the perception of ownership within this role is essential.
